Although Base One will share more information with you during the parent meeting on 09/09/25 at 5pm, here are a few things to feel prepared for the first week back.

  • Children will need to bring their P.E. kits and Forest Schools (waterproofs and wellies) back on the 02/09/25. P.E. will usually be on Mondays and Tuesdays.
  • Any old reading books used over the summer can be returned to school and new reading books will be distributed that week. Once we are back into a routine, these shall normally be handed out on Tuesdays (a RWI book and Phonics Story Book).
  • We shall start Challenge Tree Books the following week after these have been explained to parents at the Base One meeting. Normally, to be returned and exchanged on Fridays.
  • Your child will be given their homework book on 02/09/25. The activities will be explained to the children beforehand. Homework books will normally need to be returned on Mondays and will be handed back to you marked on Tuesdays. You shall see a spelling activity as well as one English, Reading or Maths activity. Altogether two independent sheets to complete. A weekly blog shall follow each week (when the issue has been resolved). Please keep an eye on the class blog for these updates.
  • A reading journey booklet shall also be handed out on 02/09/25. This will allow your child to record anything they have read at home. These shall be explained to your child before they are sent home and more information shall be shared on how to use these during the parent meeting if you are unsure.
  • Star of the week will begin the following week on Fridays.
