Friends of Crossdale PTA is a group of volunteer parents and teachers who work together to enrich and make our school a better environment for children to learn. We raise extra funds through a wide range of fun and creative initiatives and events. The average PTA (our PTA members are anything but average!) raises £9,000 each year to pay for things that school budgets cannot stretch to.

We have a very active and committed PTA at Crossdale who organise events across the year that raise money for the school and provide opportunities for the school community to come together. Christmas fairs, summer fairs, film nights, fashion shows, discos, BBQs, quiz nights – there is always something happening!

We always need extra volunteers so don’t hesitate to get intouch if you’re interested in joining us, or helping out at a event.

Check out the ‘Crossdale School PTA’ page on Facebook for details of upcoming events, or directly to our PTA website here ‘Friends of Crossdale (pta-events.com)

A note from the Chair Aimee Sharpe:

Our fundraising efforts for the 2023-24 school year were truly outstanding! In addition to our annual commitment of £6000, which supports English and Math resources, we allocated funds to help launch the new Challenge Tree Library, spending £900 on books and an extra £400 later on. We also sponsored Year 4’s weekly music lessons, provided SATs rewards for Year 6 with sweet and pop bundles, and treated Year 2 to donuts after their SATs. Year 6 also had a fantastic send-off celebration with a chip shop meal following their traditional water fight with the teachers, and we backed their business enterprise, allowing them to run their own stall at the Football and Fun event.

We provided the new Robin class with book bags, handed out 50th-anniversary medals for everyone after the Fun Run, and gave Base 2’s cloakroom a fresh makeover. Our busy year concluded with an amazing end-of-year fun day on the field, featuring a professional face painter, hairstylists for colourful hair extensions, a craft stall, glitter tattoos, Hawaiian necklaces (a huge thank you to Emma for making hundreds of flowers!), and Zorb balls for the older children (even the staff put on a brilliant show for the children in them!), thanks to Mr. Pharaoh — a massive hit!

Peter Presto wowed us with his comedy magic show, while Sound Bath sessions provided a relaxing afternoon treat. Every child contributed by painting a stone for the kindness bench in the “calm” playground, a special thanks to Mrs. Westie for overseeing this project. The day ended with ice creams for all and a beautiful performance of “Sing” by Gary Barlow, capping off an unforgettable school year. It was such a success that Miss Seedhouse has already planned another end-of-year treat day!

Let’s make this year even more magical!
