To help us to practise our spelling rules, we are running a spelling bee in Year 6. The children are working as teams in the competition rather than being quizzed individually. Here are some further points to note:
-Children have chosen teams with their friends to give them the option to practise learning their spelling words outside of school
-There will be different divisions of the teams based on the number of people in each team so that the competition between teams is fair
-Each week there will be a spelling round that quizzes a set number of spelling rules and the children will know which rules are being tested beforehand. Teams will score points based on the number of words they get correct and we will then total the scores.
We will run our spelling bee on a Wednesday afternoon and I will set optional assignments on DoodleSpell to match the words being quizzed the following week. This Wednesday’s spelling patterns are attached here.Spelling Bee Round 2 28th January
