We have completed our Maya-inspired clay work this week by giving our pots a coat of paint, in colours that reflect the pigments that the Maya would have had available to them at the time. The children have practised different clay shaping and building techniques to create their own version of the Mayan pottery that we have explored in our study of Maya artefacts, such as figurines of deities, drinking cups and incense holders. The children’s creations will be making their way home to you soon to enjoy at home.
