Hello,
Another sunny weekend – I hope you are enjoying the weather. Summer is really here and it isn’t long before the big holidays!
*Please ensure costumes are in for Monday as we have dress rehearsals this week.
*Continue to complete doodle assignments and stay in the green zone – you are wonderful at this, Puffins, and these little bits really help your maths stay whizzy!
*Spellings this week are high frequency words and don’t follow a spelling pattern. These are words that we will talk about and create little mnemonics together eg ‘Sadie Ann is delightful’ for ‘said. Our words: said, because, once, there, you, school, your, was, when, where. Learning these words will help the children settle into spelling in Year 2 as well :-).
*I have emailed you all with an update from our most recent phonics assessment. Hopefully the information was clear and you have received the videos to support at home over the summer. School reports will go home on Friday and in this you will receive your child’s phonic screening result, too.
*We will send new books home, as usual, on Monday and Thursday. We will be completing the current book colours for most children – even if they have moved on.
See you on Monday,
Mrs Jones
