Hello,
Mrs Morgan says the class assembly was a huge success on Friday so well done to the Robins! We are so pleased we could share some of the special things we have been doing – we certainly are always busy!
Miss Seedhouse has sent some information out about our upcoming book sale and the book week in the Crossdale News (including dress up on the Thursday for World Book Day). During that week, I have arranged for all classes to visit the library. I am hoping Y1 will have a slot to visit Keyworth library on Tuesday 3rd March at 2pm. We would like as many parent helpers as possible to accompany us on the trip please – let me know if you are able to join us (thank you!).
Spellings this week: Week 5 spellings – the endings ‘er’ and ‘est’. Our words are: grander, grandest, fresher, freshest, quicker, quickest, taller, tallest, slower, slowest. Please complete week 5 worksheet of your spelling in the homework pack and login to doodlespell to play some games with those words. The new words will be available from Monday.
Reading: Please ensure your child has their books to return in their hand on Monday morning so that we can quickly receive those. Next week, as usual, we will swap books on Monday and Thursday. Thank you for reminding your child to carry their water bottles to help us avoid spillages and water damage.
We have completed all of our spring term 1 phonic assessments and a detailed email has been sent out to you all individually. If there is anything you are unsure of on there or any questions you have, please catch me and I will be happy to give more detail.
Maths: Please login to doodle and complete your daily quick fire questions plus any assignments you have outstanding. Lots more children have been accessing it this week – thank you for supporting us.
Topic homework due next week for our showcase lesson (in Y1 this will be on Weds 11th): the topic homework menu sheet is in the printed pack that came home at the end of term but you can also find an online version on our ‘key information’ blog. Please choose one activity to do with your child for this half term. Looking forward to seeing what you get up to!
See you tomorrow,
Mrs Jones
