Hello,

A little early this week but I wanted to ensure everyone was prepared for our visit on Monday.

We have an action packed week ahead, starting with our trip on Monday morning to the Framework Knitters Museum in Ruddington. All children are going to be dropped off and then collected from there on Monday so we look forward to seeing you there. If there is a change to the lift arrangement, please let me know as I will not be able to send children in a car back with anyone other than you specified on the form. Children will need to register, as usual, at school for 9am then we will leave school at approximately 9:25am. If you have offered a lift, please ensure you are at school for that time so that we can leave promptly – thank you again for your support with travel. Children will then need to be collected from the museum at 12pm to then return to school for their lunch. Children need to wear school uniform for this trip so that we can easily identify Crossdale children. If you are one of our parent helpers for this trip, I have already contacted you with a safeguarding note so please ensure you are familiar with that. Some children will be bringing their own lunch – others have ordered a packed lunch from the kitchen. There are no hot dinner options for Monday due to the timings.

Please look out for an email with an update on your child’s progress this week from their phonics assessment. I will link in some videos to support at home with some of the areas your child needs to work on. I hope you find this useful. We will be able to talk more about this at our open evening in a few weeks time.

Phonics and reading: Please continue to return books either on a Monday or Thursday and we will send the next books home on those days, too.

Maths: Please encourage your child to login to doodle maths and to stay in the ‘green zone’ by completing assignments set and doing their ‘5 a day’. We remain in top spot this week, however, Year 3 are very close behind!

Spelling: Week 5 – /ch/ sound spelt with a /ch/ and /tch/. Our words are: chip, chick, catch, fetch, kitchen, notch, hutch, rich, much, such. Please use the spelling sheet for this and also log in to doodlespell where the words will be as an assignment from Monday. This is a great recap for phonics as well as all children should be able to read these words and spell them now.

See you on Monday,

Mrs Jones.
