The children had a great time during our DT Day, where they learned how cam mechanisms can make models move.
Their task was to create a simple toy linked to the solar system. They decorated a box, added holes for dowels and then built the mechanism inside. Once everything was assembled, the children tested their models. If something didn’t work as expected, they used their problem‑solving skills to spot the issue and fix it—whether that meant adjusting the cam, moving the dowel or checking how the parts were connected! It was a fun and practical day! he children should be really proud of their resilience and creativity!
Well done everybody!
