Sparrow Class had a fantastic Book Week last week! It was lovely to see so many of the children at the Book Fair, and we hope they are all enjoying their new books at home.
We were so impressed by the children’s poster entries for the book competition. A big well done to Arthur, who was our lucky winner! All of the children’s wonderful entries are proudly on display in the hall or in our classroom.
On Thursday, the children looked fabulous in their book character costumes. We loved seeing who they came dressed as, and we had great fun spending the day playing and learning as our characters.
One of our highlights of the week was our visit to Keyworth Library. The children walked brilliantly both to and from the library. While there, we enjoyed an informative talk from Caroline the librarian, explored the bookshelves, and each child chose a book to bring home.
We were also lucky to have Mrs Szymkiw from the office visit us to read a story, and we had a lovely time buddying up with Year 5 and Year 3 to enjoy some shared reading together.
To finish the week, the children had a cosy Friday session sharing a book with a cuddly teddy—a perfect end to our celebrations.
What a fantastic week of reading, imagination, and book-themed fun!
