Our homework this week is complete the following activities:
-on DoodleSpell, the assignment related to Week 2 of our Autumn 1 spelling words. If you have any other assignments to finish off then please complete those too. Try and spend about 5 minutes a day on Doodle Spell to help continually improve your spelling, as the app targets the rules and words that it has noticed you find trickier.
-our latest MyMaths assignments. This week I have set one assignment linked to your child’s learning in maths this week.
-remember to practise your spellings ready for our test next week. The rule to be tested on this coming Monday is the spelling of words ending in ‘se’ or ‘ce’ depending on whether they are verbs or nouns. Please see the following for a reminder of the spelling words: Year 6 Spellings Autumn 1 2026
-complete your reading record entry. Our new reading diaries went home at the start of the term and it would be great to see how the children are getting on with those next week.
-we will be holding our topic showcase at the end of the half term on Tuesday 13th October. Please see the home learning activities pack (A Child’s War Home Learning Activities) for some ideas to get you started with this project. If you have a particular area of interest with WW2 then please feel free to do your topic homework on that – we will enjoy hearing all about it at the showcase.
