Hello,

We have really enjoyed getting to know the Sparrows again this week. They are getting really stuck in to our learning and have really impressed us.

In our RE lesson on Monday, we will be talking about how we belong to different groups and communities.

If your child would like to bring in an item that represents a group, club, or community they belong to, they are very welcome to do so. Please don’t worry if they would prefer not to bring anything, but we thought the children might enjoy sharing something that is special to them.

Some ideas include:

  • Football shirt / swimming badge or hat / gymnastics leotard / trophy, medal, rosette / photo doing a sport
  • Beavers / rainbows uniform, neckerchief, or badge
  • Music lesson book / photo of instrument / dance club programme
  • Photo from a place of worship /Certificate from a faith group
  • Library card (with personal details covered if needed) / community festival photo

Reading

We swap our books on Mondays and Thursdays – please have books ready to pass over to staff then. Please try to listen to your child read their phonics book 3-5 times a week.

Spelling

This week is week 3 of our spellings. Our words this week all have the endings “-ing”, “-ed” and “-er”. Our ten words are: hunting, hunted, hunter, buzzing, buzzed, buzzer, jumping, jumped, jumper, cracker. There are games you can play on doodlespell or you can use the page in your homework pack for some written work.

Maths

Try completing the short doodle assignments and having a go at your 5 a day. More than half of the class are in the green zone and we are second on the whole leader board which is fantastic. Fantastic effort, Sparrows!
