Hello,
A little bit of housekeeping: we are doing Forest Schools every week now through the summer term. Please ensure that children have the correct kit for this including welly boots, waterproof jacket (for those summer showers!) and waterproof trousers. Most weeks this will be on a Monday but we have a few swaps for Tuesdays as well.
Spellings this week: Week 2 spellings. This week our words all end with the sound /ee/ which is spelt with ‘y’. Our words are: very, happy, funny, party, family, dizzy, smelly, silly, jolly, sunny. Please complete week 2 worksheet of your spelling in the homework pack next week and login to doodlespell to play some games with those words.
Reading: The children have new books to take home today (thank you to everyone who has returned old books – if you haven’t done so, please help us keep our books topped up by returning any old ones). Some children have moved onto blue books now so watch out for those in book bags. Please try to re-read books to help build fluency, speed and understanding. Re-reading the same book 3-5 times is recommended.
Maths: We have set some new assignments for you on doodle; please login to doodle and complete your daily quick fire questions.Try to stay in the green zone by logging in every day.
Topic homework: We are starting our brand new topic tomorrow with our big question ‘Where is the UK?’. I am sure the children are excited to start their topic homework with you at home linking to this geography learning. Our showcase lesson will be in the last week of the half term.
Mrs Jones
