We had an exciting and active Healthy Living Week in Year 3, packed with opportunities for the children to develop their physical skills, teamwork, and understanding of how to live a healthy lifestyle.
Throughout the week, the children took part in a variety of engaging sports sessions. They enjoyed learning new skills in basketball, where they practised dribbling, passing and shooting. In football freestyling, the pupils challenged themselves to control the ball using different parts of their body, building confidence and coordination as they improved their tricks.
We also explored some exciting games such as paceball and scatterball, which were great for developing quick thinking, movement and teamwork. The children showed excellent enthusiasm and resilience, especially when learning new rules and strategies. Our team-building activities gave everyone the chance to work collaboratively, communicate effectively and support one another—skills that are just as important off the field as they are on it.
To round off the week, we took part in a fantastic whole-school run. It was wonderful to see the children encouraging each other and pushing themselves to complete the course with smiles on their faces.
In addition to all the physical activity, we also focused on the importance of healthy eating in our science lesson. The children learned about balanced diets and the different food groups our bodies need to stay strong and energised. They then applied this knowledge by planning their own healthy meal plans for the week, thinking carefully about how to include a variety of nutritious foods.
Overall, it has been a brilliant week, and we are so proud of the effort, enthusiasm and positivity shown by all of the children. We hope they continue to take their healthy habits forward at home!
Thank you for your continued support.
