Topic
This week in our All About Me topic, we have been learning about Community. We joined the Everywhere Bear on a journey around Keyworth, looking at photos of local places and talking about the people who help us, such as swimming teachers and school staff. We also enjoyed making thank you cards for them, and Miss Seedhouse was especially pleased to receive hers!
Handwriting
In handwriting, we have been practising straight lines and diagonals using ribbons and chalks.
English
In English, we have loved reading our new story, Rosie’s Walk. We have started learning actions to help us retell the story using phrases such as ‘one sunny day’, ‘first’, ‘next’ and ‘finally’. We have also enjoyed exploring our farm set and playing in the farm shop that has appeared in our classroom.
Phonics
This week we learned five new sounds: i, n, p, g and o.
Maths
In maths, we have been learning to subitise, which means recognising a quantity without counting. We are becoming very confident at subitising 1, 2 and 3.
Well done, Kingfishers, for another super week at school!
