Hello Kingfisher Families,
What a wonderful first week we have had in Kingfisher Class! It has been a pleasure getting to know all the children, and we have loved spending time together exploring our classroom and outdoor learning areas.
Starting school is a big milestone, and the children have been introduced to lots of new routines and expectations. I am incredibly proud of how well they have settled in and how hard they are trying to remember and follow these new routines already.
Our topic this week has been ‘Me’. The children have enjoyed sharing their All About Me books, playing games together, and talking about their similarities and differences. We have had lots of lovely discussions about the foods we like, our favourite activities, and the things that make each of us unique.
The children have each selected a school swap book to take home. These books are for you to enjoy together at home. Please return the book next Friday so that your child can choose a new one for the following week.
To help the children feel settled and prepared for Monday, I have uploaded photographs from around our classroom. Please take some time to look through these pictures with your child over the weekend. Asking questions and encouraging them to talk about what they can see will help them build confidence and share their experiences from school.
On Monday, Mrs Rodriguez and Mrs Oliver will be looking forward to welcoming the children back to school. I will then be back in class on Tuesday and am excited to hear all about their weekend adventures.
In the meantime, I hope you all have a lovely weekend. Thank you for your support during this exciting first week of school. We are so proud of our super Kingfishers and cannot wait to see what next week brings!
Best wishes,
Miss Marshall
