This week in our English lessons, Sparrow Class have been enjoying listening to and retelling the story of The Rainbow Fish. On Friday, the children should have brought home a copy of our Rainbow Fish story map, along with the written version of the story in their book bags. We would love for you to listen to them retell the story at home!

The children have also been learning actions to go with key words and phrases such as once upon a time, first, unfortunately, and after that. If you look at the photographs in this post, you’ll see some of the children modelling these actions, which you can use to support storytelling at home.

Our seaside theme has continued this week, and we have been busy learning about animals that live in rock pools. The children have loved creating their own rock pool collages and had great fun exploring a rock pool at school. They also enjoyed designing their own sunglasses—ready for when the sunshine finally returns!

Well done, Sparrows, for another fantastic week.
