Hello,

A quick reminder that our topic showcase lesson is on Tuesday afternoon so please make sure homework comes in then. We have a planned slot for that so look forward to sharing what everyone has been up to.

If you haven’t yet seen the information from our phonics screening meeting, please take a look at this blog here: Phonics Screening Check Meeting – Crossdale Primary School

Spellings this week: Week 6 spellings. This week our words do not share a common spelling pattern / sound but they are all linked as they are ‘common exception rules’. We call these words ‘tricky words’ in our phonics as they are really just words that need to be learnt. Our words are: of, said, has, was, come, one, once, ask, your, is.  Please complete week 6 worksheet of your spelling in the homework pack next week and login to doodlespell to play some games with those words.

Reading: The children will have new books to take home on Monday and Thursday this week.  Please try to re-read books to help build fluency, speed and understanding. Re-reading the same book 3-5 times is recommended. You should all have received your individual emails with an update from our recent phonics assessment.

Maths: We have set some new assignments for you on doodle; please login to doodle and complete your daily quick fire questions. Try to stay in the green zone by logging in every day.

Enjoy the weekend!

Mrs Jones
