What a fantastic week we’ve had at school!

This week, as part of our Habitats topic, we have been learning all about woodlands. We explored the different homes of woodland creatures and then made our own bug hotels using sticks and leaves. We also went on a mini‑beast hunt and discovered worms, ladybirds and woodlice, to name just a few! The children also created their own minibeasts using shapes, paper and playdough. Look closely—can you guess what they are?

In English, we have been practising retelling our Gruffalo story and adding actions to support our storytelling. Perhaps the children can teach you the story and the actions at home too?

Finally, in Maths, we have been learning about composition. We can say “6 is made of 5 and 1, 5 and 1 makes 6”. We can also say “7 is made of 5 and 2, 5 and 2 makes 7” and the same for numbers 8 and 9. Maybe you could test us at home!
