Sparrows have had a very busy first week back.

In English, we have been enjoying the story The Gruffalo. The children have loved bringing the story to life by making the Gruffalo out of playdough and using their cutting, crafting and painting skills to create some fantastic artwork. We also set up a woodland tray for the Gruffalo and other characters to explore, and the children had great fun dressing up as the Gruffalo.

At Forest School, Sparrows enjoyed making habitats for minibeasts and using natural materials they found to create their own minibeast art.

Our Gruffalo Café has been very busy this week. The children have enjoyed role‑playing and taking orders — would you like to try some Gruffalo Crumble?

In our topic lessons, we explored animal tracks using paint, playdough and sand. The children noticed that different animals make different tracks and enjoyed guessing which animal had left each one.

In Maths, we have been practising subitising, and Sparrows are getting confident at recognising numbers on ten frames.

What a great start to the term, Sparrows. Well done! Click the ‘Load More Button’ to see more fantastic images.
