We have enjoyed lots of fun activities linked to our topic of ‘Growing’, exploring plants, humans and healthy eating, to name just a few. We were also lucky to have a visit from one of Mrs Oliver’s friends, who is a dietitian. This all linked nicely during our science week where we welcomed more visitors and carried out our own class experiments.
We have retold and reinvented The Three Billy Goats Gruff story and learned about the artist Giuseppe Arcimboldo, who is best known for creating imaginative portrait heads made entirely from objects. We used this as inspiration to create our own artwork using fruit and vegetables.
We finished the half term by learning about what happens during the season of spring (and I think it has finally arrived!) and looked for signs of spring in our wonderful outdoor area. We also learned about how and why people celebrate Easter and ended the half term with a special treat day, earned by being totally amazing and collecting lots of stamps on our stamp charts.
The children have had a fantastic few weeks! Take a look at the pictures to get a flavour of our adventures.
