What an amazing week we’ve had in Year 3 as we celebrated World Book Day! Our classrooms have been buzzing with excitement, stories, and plenty of reading fun. Here’s a little look back at everything we’ve been up to…

📖 A Trip to the Library

We kicked off the week with a visit to the library. The librarian gave us a brilliant talk all about how the library works, why books are so special, and how to find stories we’ll really enjoy. Everyone then chose a book to take out and began reading—there were so many excellent choices!

👩‍🏫 Teacher Swap Storytime

Next, we had a teacher swap! A different teacher visited our classroom to read us a story. It was exciting to hear a new voice and enjoy a book we might not have chosen ourselves.

🤝 Buddy Reading Across the School

Later in the week, we joined up with children from other year groups for buddy reading. It was wonderful to share stories, read aloud together, and listen to books being enjoyed by new friends.

🎭 World Book Day Costumes & Assembly

On World Book Day itself, Year 3 were dressed to impress! From magical wizards to brave adventurers, silly characters to classic favourites, our costumes were fantastic. We also gathered for a special assembly to celebrate our love of books and the joy of reading.

🧸 Reading with Our Favourite Teddies

To round off our book‑filled week, today we brought in our favourite teddies and read stories with them. It was a cosy and calm end to a busy week of reading adventures.
