One of the most exciting weeks in our school calendar is nearly here—Book Week! This special week is a chance for our whole school community to come together and celebrate the joy, creativity, and wonder that reading brings into our lives.

To mark the occasion, we’re launching a whole‑school Book Week competition, and we can’t wait to see the children’s creativity shine!

Children are invited to design an A4 poster that represents them as readers.
They might choose to show:

  • The types of books or stories they enjoy
  • Characters they feel connected to
  • Places they love to read
  • How reading makes them feel

The poster can be drawn, collaged, painted, digitally created—anything goes, as long as it’s A4 and reflects who they are as readers. I have attached an example below.

A winner will be chosen from each class, and each winning designer will receive a brand‑new book from the Book Fair! All entries will be celebrated and displayed throughout school so the whole community can enjoy the children’s wonderful ideas.

Please ensure entries are in school by Wednesday 4th March.

On Thursday the Book Fair will arrive and will be staying for a week. We will send the children home with £1 book tokens which can be used at the fair. The fair will be open before and after school but will need to close at 8:50 to ensure children and staff can get to their lessons on time. There is always a fabulous collection of new and exciting books!
