Autumn Term 2 - Sports Round Up!

Hello everyone,

What a term it is has been! All the pupils in school have shown an amazing attitude in PE this term working together to make sure we all get active in school. We have had Football, throwing & catching, Joe wicks and much much more...

Reception have been focusing on their throwing and catching skills this term using a variety of balls from footballs to cricket balls and even other pieces of equipment like bean bags. The weather hasn’t always been great when reception have had PE, so they have been showing me their fitness skills with Joe Wicks!

Year 1 and Year 2 have been taking part in throwing catching for their PE sessions this term focusing on team building tasks such as over and under, passing the ball across the line. Year 2 even hold the school record of throwing and catching a ball to the whole class in under 30 seconds! Let's see if any other classes can beat there time later in the year for sports day!

Year 3,4,5 and 6 have been taking part in football for their PE sessions this term learning new skills such as passing, dribbling, defending and shooting. Year 5 & 6 have also been taking part in the healthy hearts scheme with Trent Bridge Community Trust, you can find more information about this here - https://www.crossdaleschool.com/blog/?pid=6&nid=8&storyid=2871

Sadly, I was unable to run sports clubs in this term due to Lockdown 2 but instead I went and supported breakfast club by doing some sports with each bubble for roughly 20 minutes each after they had their breakfast. During in this club, we had over 50 pupils across the school take part in sport during breakfast club.

Thank you for all your hard work over the last term guys and I hope you all have a merry Christmas and happy new year!

Best wishes,

Mr. Pharoah
