Autumn Term 1 sports round up!

Hello everyone,

I would like to start by saying what an amazing start to school we have had not only for the children but for myself as well. This term has had its challenges in terms of PE and sport at Crossdale mainly due to having to adapt our PE lessons and how we take part in sport in schools but all the children have welcomed these changes and adapted themselves for PE brilliantly!

Reception have not only made a start to their schooling journey but also to PE and have done so positively learning new skills like balancing, throwing & catching and the biggest challenge of them all getting themselves changed!

Year 1 and Year 2 have been taking part in football for their PE sessions this term learning new skills such as passing, dribbling and shooting. I think we will defiantly have some great football teams to come, when we can restart competitive competitions.

Year 3,4,5 and 6 have all been focusing on athletics in there PE lessons doing activities like long jump, shuttle runs, chest push and many more. Towards the end of the term we all took part in a virtual athletics competition against other schools in Rushcliffe and are currently awaiting the scores to be totalled up.

Finally, our after-school sports clubs have been a great success this term having 19 different children taking part over the 3 sessions. Please keep an eye out on the sports blog for new sports clubs running next term.

Thank you for all your hard work over the last term guys, let's make next term even better!
