Storytelling Morning (& Homework & Spellings)
We had a great morning with our visiting storyteller, Mike Payton, today.
Mike really enjoyed himself as well and commented on the brilliant attitudes he had seen from the children. He was particularly impressed by the way that children were encouraging each other and were happy to compromise to allow them to work as an effective team.
We saw some great individual contributions and I hope that lots of the children we watched perform today feel confident enough to go for a big role in the summer play. They were brilliant!
After an agonising discussion and deliberation we selected four children to visit Tollerton School on Wednesday morning and take part in the next phase of the project.
The storytelling supported our work in English; this week we have been enjoying Greek myths. We were particularly amazed to hear some of the astonishing (and disgusting) things that were unleashed by Pandora when she opened the box!
All of the children were given homework and spelling sheets this afternoon. I did notice a couple of sheets left behind on desks after the children went home so, to be helpful, I have attached the files to this blog post as PDFs.
Have a great weekend! See you all next week for parents' evenings. (If the time you were given isn't convenient, please get in touch as I have lots of gaps in between appointments.)
