brilliant book week!
Book week has been packed full of exciting events. We started the week with ‘Mexico Mike’ Payton. He is an awesome storyteller. He kept the whole school gripped. The children joined in with actions and singing to help tell his stories. The children were so engaged and fascinated.
We have also had class swaps to share stories. The Robins teamed up with Year 6 which was lovely to see them back with their buddies. They also had Miss Armstrong (teacher in Year 4) come to Reception and read a story. She was very impressed with how they all listened and interacted with the story.
Thursday was ‘World Book Day’. This was definitely one of my highlights! Seeing the children all dressed up as characters from books was amazing. Thank you to all the grown-ups involved in helping them with their outfits – they all looked FABULOUS!
We finished the week with our trip to the local library. The children were impeccably behaved (as always) and were super sensible, walking there and back and crossing the roads. They enjoyed listening to a story and finding books they could bring home. The librarian also commented on how well-behaved and polite the children were too. Well done, Robins, and thank you to all the parents who were able to give their time to help with this trip.
I have added some pictures of the brilliant book week we have had.
