Year 1 Blog - Starling Class

Year One have been having a wonderful time learning about the artist Andy Warhol over the last couple of weeks. We have been inspired by his animal pictures and have enjoyed creating our own artwork based on his ideas.

This week we learnt how to make a pencil transfer print and were all so impressed with the results we got. I have included a link explaining how to do it if you would like to give it a try at home.

Please find attached the maths 'Key Instant Recall Facts' for the next half-term - I will also send home a paper copy of these next week in homework books (Tuesday as normal). KIRFS are the maths facts that we expect children to learn instantly and the ones which will have the biggest impact on their learning and retrieval of facts; these are broken down into half-term, bite size chunks. We share these with you so that you can help your child to develop this recall at home as well as at school.
