  • Merry Christmas

    Published 20/12/23, by Claire Jones

    Merry Christmas to you all!

We have had a super start to our treat day today (see photos attached). We have already had an assembly, done some crafting, completed an elf treasure hunt and kept up to date with the antics of our class elf, Elvis. He will be leaving us soon to go and help Santa), but it's been lovely having him each day leading up to Christmas (and the children have done some super writing, keeping a daily diary of his activities!!!).

See photos of us in class this morning. Here we had just enjoyed our hot chocolates (we are complete with some chocolate moustaches!) and some Christmassy maths. This afternoon we will have a Christmas film. The children have worked so hard this term, they definitely deserve it!

I've had a wonderful term with your children and I look forward to spring and summer with the Starlings. I'd like to say a big thank you, also, for all of my cards, presents and the class gift. It's really kind and generous of you to organise this and I appreciate it very much.

Have a restful Christmas break and see you in 2024!

    Mrs Jones

    Hello,

Here is your weekly post with general messages and reminders for the week including information about homework. It is a busy week with our two school concerts - please ensure your child has their Christmas accessory for tomorrow if they didn't have it today! Our concert lasts approximately an hour and 15 minutes. We start tomorrow evening at 6pm.

*The knitted nativity story has come home to a few of you - we will be sharing these out for all children who would like to before Christmas.

*Your 'special homework' this week is to enjoy some Christmas stories together - it has been a busy one so I hope this is enjoyable and relaxing!

*Spelling activity this week is linked to week 6 of autumn term 2 words (ie): lie, tie, pie, cried, tried, dried, chief, thief, shield, field.

*Please listen to your child read at least 3 time a week. New books will come home with you on Monday and Thursday.  Please send in any books to be returned on Mondays and Thursdays as well so that we can re-stock our shelves.

*Well done to The Starling Class for being top doodlers this week. I am super proud of you!
