Homework Post wb 20/05/24

Half-term is fast approaching! Thanks again for another super half-term - I can't believe we are reaching the last half-term with the lovely Starling Class. I'm sure we are all ready for a break and I wish you a super (sunny!) break. Here is your weekly homework post. 

*Note - 24/05/24 - 'Wear your favourite shoes' day.

*Your 'special homework' will be in homework books as usual on Tuesday. Thanks to everyone that hands me their homework book on a Monday. If I don't receive this on a Monday, I will send sheets home loose. 

*Spelling activity this week is linked to week 6: trigraph 'ear' - dear, hear, beard, near, year, clear, fear, bear, wear, pear. I've uploaded these words to games on Spelling Shed and as usual, I'll stick a spelling activity into homework books.

*Please listen to your child read at least 3 times a week. New books will come home with you on Monday and Thursday.  We will do our Year 1 Book Club time on Tuesday this week so please ensure your child brings their swap book back in so that they can take a new one with them. The children love this time and it is great to hear about the books they love and hear them recommending books to their friends.

*Try to stay in the green zone on doodle by completing your '5 a day' and your assignments. 

More information to follow about the Year 1 National Phonics Screening Check which happens in June after the holidays.
