Strings update from this week

The children are doing brilliantly in their mixed strings lessons. They have learnt how to hold their bows correctly and have been playing some finger notes too, where they have to hold down the string and play the note simultaneously. This week we perfected our warm-up song The Drunken Sailor and we have started learning some Christmas carols. The children have learnt how to read simple musical notation and were able to spot from the notes given that the first carol we would learn is Jingle Bells, simply from looking at the rhythm of the notes!
