Meteorite Landing!

An exciting event in Year Five!

Well - today has been a most extraordinary day for us. Mrs Cox was outside when a meteorite hit the pile of bark chippings! After recovering from the shock, we headed outside to see what had happened. When we reached the site, we saw the trail of ash that the meteorite had left behind and the hole that the meteorite had made! The children were due to write a newspaper report about local improvements in tarmac; however we thought that this would be a more interesting news item to report on. The children promptly got to work on interviewing the key eye witness, Mrs Kerry Cox, and then collected samples from the site. We then began to write our newspaper articles and will edit and improve these tomorrow.

The children are bringing home some samples from the site with them tonight - remember to wash hands after handling the ash!
