Y6 Beaumanor WW2 trip

Learning all about life during WW2

Year 6 have had a fantastic day today at Beaumanor Hall in Loughborough. We have been learning first-hand about how life would have been for children alive during the time of the Second World War. The WW2 experience day at the hall was the perfect opportunity to answer the second enquiry question of our current topic (A Child's War) which is: what was life like during WW2 for children?

The children have found out about the school room, more details about evacuation, they have gone shopping with limited rations, decoded messages in the coding rooms and experienced a simulation of an air raid. We will be sharing some of our learning during our class assembly this Friday, at 3pm.
