From one topic to another...

The children have very much enjoyed learning about London this half term and we will continue to do so for a few more days after the half-term holiday, finishing off this fantastic topic with our DT day on Wednesday 6th June. I very much hope that some of you can join us to create landmarks of London with junk modelling equipment (donations of boxes etc.very much welcome in school that week please!)

We shall then be moving on to a series of marvellous mini-topics to finish off the year; plants, sports and Florence Nightingale. Although shorter, during these weeks almost everything we do will be based around the topic (topic overview below) . Hopefully it should make for a great end to a wonderful school year.

On that note, the children completed their 'quizzes' on Monday of this week and I have been overwhelmed with their hard work and fantastic efforts. The children have shown such brilliant attitudes to learning, applying everything we've worked so hard on over the course of the year and have got supersonic 'stickability'!  For the remainder of the year we will have a particular focus on spelling and writing in order to get ourselves well and truly Year Three ready.  There will be weekly spelling tests on a Monday and I will send home word lists during the first week back (as well as blogging the lists for your reference.)
