I just wanted to say a big 'wow' to all your homework efforts so far! The models, fact files and cake (!) looked and tasted delicious. We hope you have enjoyed learning about castles as much as we have. Please find below some of the pictures of the things that have come in so far. • REMEMBRANCE DAY ART - YR 1 & 2

    Published 11/11/19, by Admin

In Year 1 & 2 we celebrated our British Values and honoured Remembrance Day by creating different types of poppies.

We used lots of our focused art skills, such as cutting, joining and using templates to produce both red and purple poppies to remember the humans and animals that died during wars.

We thought about our 'big question' - 'Why do we wear poppies to remember those who died?' And learnt lots of new facts about the different animals involvement in the war (thank you to our special guest, Mrs Westiefor all her knowledge!)

We held a 2 minute silence with the whole-school and also learnt some wonderful facts from our Year 5's about World War 1.

What a fantastic way to honour all those special fallen people and animals.

    Great team effort Year 1 & 2.

  • Homework

    Published 04/11/19, by Claire Jones

Welcome back! I hope you've all had a super holiday.

Just to remind you that as well as regular reading at home, we do frequently set homework for mymaths and doodle maths. I have updated the tasks now to keep you going until Christmas. The use of these websites really do support the curriculum we teach at school and help children to feel more confident with the maths we learn.

Spelling continues to be tested on a Monday and new words given out each Monday, too. Although we do practise these in school, we also expect these to be practised as part of our weekly homework.

If you have any issues logging on, please do let us know.

    Mrs Jones and Payne.
