October half term activities

I hope that everyone has a wonderful half term break. The children have been working hard these last few weeks and it has been lovely working with them. To keep those brains ticking over during our two week break, I have set you a few little jobs:

1. Grammar and punctuation revision booklet: I have sent home a paper copy of the attached grammar booklet below for the children to practise the grammar topics that we have covered this half term. I have also attached the answers to the blog post so that you can check their work easily. NB: they seem to have changed the front cover of the booklet since I printed them, but the booklets appear to be the same!

2. I have set the weekly MyMaths activities for the children. These should pop up automatically.

3. Rest and relax! Enjoy some fun autumn moments with friends and family, and get lots of good sleep and exercise.

4. Library challenge: the aim of this task is to share books we love! Your job is to head to a library over the holiday and find a fresh book that you really enjoy. Once you have read this book, get a grown up to take a picture of you with the book and send the photo over to contact@crossdale.notts.sch.uk  Once we are back at school we will create a display of these photos as an opportunity to share and recommend top books!

Local library opening times: Keyworth Library | Inspire - Culture, Learning, Libraries (inspireculture.org.uk)

West Bridgford Library | Inspire - Culture, Learning, Libraries (inspireculture.org.uk)

5. VIPERS journals: the next sheet for the VIPERS journals should be stuck in their journals, ready to complete over the break. Maybe you can do an entry about your book from the library.

Homework activities are due in on the first Friday back, the 10th November.

Have a wonderful break everybody, and I will look forward to seeing you again in November.
