This week's spellings!

Just a quick post to say another huge well done to all the children for working so hard on their spellings. This week we will be looking at common exception words, these are words which are frequently used but frustratingly don't follow the phonics rules that we've learnt! So, when learning these words we often think of rhymes, funny ways to say them or mnemonics to help us to remember them. For example, for because we say 'big elephants can always understand small elephants!'

Have fun coming up with some ways to learn the words and please ask the children to share any tips with us in class!
