RSE Day - Thursday 25/6/20

Today is RSE Day. (RSE stands for Relations and Sex Education.) We typically cover the RSE objectives for each year group during the summer term. This year this is not going to be possible so we will cover any objectives missed in the autumn term and then the objectives for their new year group in the summer term.

Below is some information about RSE Day 2020.

RSE Day

Originally started by Nottingham City Council in 2018, the aim of RSE Day is to improve the quality and reach of relationships and sex education provided for children and young people by celebrating good practice.

Research shows that excellent RSE supports the wellbeing of, and helps to safeguard, children and young people. Research shows that RSE is more effective when home and school are involved.

The theme for this year's RSE Day is ‘Books I love about love’. Many of the ideas in the free ideas packs support this theme. There are packs for working with primary children, secondary-aged pupils and parents and carers.
