  • BLENDED LEARNING MAT WB 26.06.20

    Dear Maple Class,

    You have all been superstars over the last couple of weeks and we have been incredibly proud of how well you have adapted to being back. From now on I will blog a weekly ‘blended learning mat’ every Friday. This new style of mat will give a clear picture of what we will be covering in school and what we would like you to do at home on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

    To allow a smooth transition between school and home we will be using Oak National Academy lessons for English and White Rose Home Learning for Maths. Each week we would like you to do the Oak National Academy extended writing on a Thursday and Friday and then email a photo of the writing to us. This will mean we can give feedback and share this with the children on Monday. We will also now be doing a spelling quiz on a Monday so please have a go at learning the weekly spellings set (this will be printed for you). Every Tuesday your child will come home with resources to allow you to carry out the tasks as easily as possible.

    For those of you that are returning to school on Monday we want you to know that we are very excited to see you. During the weekend please familiarise yourself with the Rainbow Rules and watch the welcome back to school video:

  • Monday 22nd June 2020

    The children in school have had a wonderful day today. This morning we introduced our new special friends for the week. We are looking at 'ai' snail in the rain, 'ay' may I play and 'a-e' make a cake. Then we started to look at information texts and finding information from a text to answer questions. In maths we have moved onto place value and we were counting to 100.

    This afternoon we had lots of fun looking at mini beasts during Forest Schools.

    We've had another fabulous day in Year One today! Lots of hard work learning about recounts and the 2, 10 and 5 times tables in the morning.

    Then a wonderful afternoon of wellbeing; yoga and mindfulness and sharing what makes us feel safe and happy at school.

  • TUESDAY 16th JUNE

    We have had another wonderful day in school filled with birthday and puppy excitement! 

    This morning we have drawn a recount map of Bob's day on the moon from our story of the week. We have loved reading the text and spotting the hidden aliens in the pictures. During maths we have been looking at equal groups of objects and some of us have then been finding the total. 

    This afternoon we have loved making natural photo frames which you can see below.
