Homework Tasks (WB 2.10.23)

Hi Maple Class,

Here are your homework tasks for this week:

SPELLINGS - the rule for our spellings this week is homophones and near homophones.

  • Homophones are words that sound the same but with different meanings and spellings: aloud and allowed
  • Near homophones are words that sound similar and have different meanings and spellings: proceed and precede.

Please complete your spelling columns and Spelling Shed assignment to be ready for our test on Monday. I will be awarding lots of stamps to children who complete both their columns and Spelling Shed assignment!

I have attached a poster which explains the difference between the homophones 'affect' and 'effect'. We spoke about this in class today, but it would be great if you could discuss it with your child at home to ensure they understand the meaning (it can be confusing to start with!).

VIPERS Journals- These went home on Friday. Please complete your entry for our 'E' Vipers (Explain), and your reading log by Friday.

Maths- My Maths is due this Friday when more will be handed out for the following week.

TTRS- continue to use TTRS 3-4 times a week to make sure you are super whizzy!

Keep up your hard work!

Miss Spencer
