First week back + PE and homework updates

We have had an excellent first week back in Maple Class!

We have spent the week talking about our goals for the year, writing a letter to Miss Spencer, recapping place value, launching our topic, doing a science experiment, and ending the week with our Keys To Learning Day and JIGSAW!

I have really enjoyed getting to know the lovely Maple Class this week, and I am looking forward to the rest of the year!

Homework:

I just thought I would do a quick reminder about homework. I have sent the children home with their VIPERS journals and their logins for websites to access online homework.

My Maths: My Maths homework goes out on a Friday and is due in the following Friday (15.9.23). I have set some homework on there today. If you are struggling to log on, please come and let me know.

VIPERS/Reading Journals: These will normally go out on a Friday and are due in the following Friday. However, since we have the INSET day next week, I handed out journals on Thursday to be completed by next Thursday (14.9.23). There is a parent guide in the front of your child's journals as they have changed slightly for this year. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions.

Spellings: Going forward, spellings will be introduced on Mondays and children will be tested on these the following Monday. I have introduced the children to their first set of spelling words this week, and they will be tested on these on Monday (11.9.23). I have attached the spelling columns to this blog post. Please access the assignment on Spelling Shed. Again, if you are struggling to log on, please come and let me know.

TTRS: continue to practice times tables regularly!

Updated PE days:

Our PE days for the rest of the half-term will now be on a Monday and Wednesday. Forest Schools will be on a Wednesday afternoon.
