Autumn 1 Learning Overview
Our Autumn 1 Learning!
Welcome to Year Three!
The children have had a brilliant start to the new school year, and we are very excited to launch our new topic 'Scrumdiddlyumptious'.
We’re going to enjoy a yummy journey of discovery, sampling fantastic fruits and tantalising treats! This term, we will be using our senses to investigate different foods. In art and design, we’ll look closely at fruits and vegetables and sketch what we can see. We’ll follow recipes and learn about foods from around the world. Our science work will focus on food groups and how food can be altered. Will we be able to create bouncy eggs, edible slime or exploding chocolate drops? Using fruits and vegetables, we’ll make amazing sculptures. In topic we’ll learn about where our food comes from and also about the fascinating discoveries made by the physicist James Lind.
Each half-term we will blog an overview of what the children will be learning on here and at the end of each half-term we will blog some pictures of our brilliant learning!
Topic homework will be posted on Seesaw each half-term and spellings will be posted weekly.
Please see the attached files below for more details of learning in Year Three this half-term.
