CHRISTMAS HOMEWORK

Hi all,

Today I will be sending home a small pack of Christmas Homework (please find attached full covering letter) this will include the following:

Christmas Holiday Homework

  • A Tricky Word Challenge – Complete the word-searches and find our Year One Common Exception words. For bonus points, can you write sentences using some of these words!?

  • Maths – Number bonds Challenge - Encourage the children to use their knowledge of our number bonds to 10 to answer the sets of number bonds challenges. We have counted using our fingers and our ‘counting tape measure’ to help us solve our questions in class. Remind children that good mathematicians ‘CHECK, CHECK, CHECK!’

  • Christmas Reading Journey Record – (in your Reading Journey Books) ten minutes a day!

  • Spending time with your family and friends - most of all we hope you all have a restful, enjoyable Christmas break!

There’s lots of bits and bobs here so do what you can over the holidays and please make sure you find lots of time to have fun with your family too.

Homework is due on Friday 24th January so there’s plenty of time!

Thank you so much for your ongoing support with homework, it really does consolidate what we do at school and makes a huge difference to your child’s confidence and progress within the classroom!

Have a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
