Science Week 2022!

Get Growing Competition 2022 instructions

Hello everyone! I would like to start off our annual Science Week by sharing with you some exciting information about our Get Growing Competition. This year, the theme for British Science Week is growth, so everyone will receive a pack of cress seeds to grow at home. The seeds will come home on Thursday the 10th March, after our launch assembly. You will have until Monday 21st March to grow your cress in a container of your choice, and then bring it back into school to showcase it.

Cress is very easy to grow, and you can find instructions to grow it online. Here is an example: https://www.thompson-morgan.com/static-images/tandm/static-articles/kids-grow/growing-cress-with-children-thompson-morgan.pdf

We will be sharing our cress in the hall after school on Monday 21st March, and there will be prizes awarded for: -the cress which has been grown in the most creative container

-the cress which has grown the tallest

-the cress which has been grown in the most unique spot.

You'll need to come armed with a picture if you want to enter your cress in to this category! If we have lots of entries then we will be picking winners for each category from Reception and Base 1 and then also from Base 2 and Base 3.

The British Science Association are also running a poster competition for this year's British Science Week - please see the following web link for more information: https://www.britishscienceweek.org/plan-your-activities/poster-competition/

Looking forward to an enjoyable Science Week; happy investigating!
