Autumn 1 Learning Overview

 Welcome to Year One!

The children have had a terrific start to the new school year (they're wonderful!), and we are very excited to launch our new topic of 'Castles' this week.

Each half-term we will blog an overview of what the children will be learning on here and at the end of each half-term we will blog some pictures of our brilliant learning!

Topic homework will be posted on Seesaw each half-term and spellings will be posted weekly.

Please see the attached files below for more details of learning in Year One this half-term. There are some key dates you may wish to note on the curriculum map.

The knowledge organisers show the vocabulary and knowledge that form the basis of our curriculum. In Year One we share these with parents so that you have a clear idea of what is being taught and can be used, if you wish, to chat about or consolidate learning at home.

We look forward to seeing you at our 'Welcome to Year One' meeting on Thursday 9th September at 4:45pm in the school hall but if you have any questions or queries please do not hesitate to contact us on the class email. We will post the PowerPoint on the Year One blog for those parents unable to make the meeting later this week.

Many Thanks

Mrs Westie and Mrs Morgan
