Y5 visit to Keyworth Allotments

Wednesday 26th September Visiting Keyworth Allotments

Hello all,

We have had a fab start to our term and are starting to get stuck into our topic: Amazing Allotments. We have already sketched vegetables, and found out where some of our imported foods come from - now it's time to see how they grow!

On Wednesday 26th September, Cedar class, myself and Mrs. Ogilvy will take a walk to the Keyworth Allotments. We will see how the allotments work, have a chance to ask allotment holders questions, and maybe even bring back a few veggies to cook with! We aim to set off at 9:00 straight after the register, and return before lunchtime, so no changes need to be made to your child's lunch arrangements. If the weather is particularly bad on this day, we will aim to go on the following day (Thursday 27th September) instead.

Please be aware, your child should come to school on this day with their forest school shoes in a bag, so that we can take a walk to the allotments and not get muddy whilst there! We will change into them before we walk, and change back when we return.

If you do not wish for your child to attend this visit, please come and speak to me in person, or call the school office.

Also, if you are available to come with us on our walk and would love to see the allotments too, please let me know, as parent helpers are more than welcome!

Looking forward to our visit,

Miss Rodriguez
