Tricky Trackers

We were lucky to have a parent helper (big thanks!) in today to help children with their Tricky Trackers . If your child is learning words for Tricky Trackers then you should find updated versions of these in their book bags today for you to practise. These words are really important for allowing your child to access their colour books that they come home with. I am sure you know from Reception that these words cannot be 'sounded out', but rather just need to be learnt for sight. These form one part of reading but are super helpful in allowing your child to develop confidence and pace, especially in those earlier books.

You will also be seeing lots of phonics sheets and activities that they have been learning during our daily phonics sessions. These can be kept at home, alongside spellings, to help reinforce their learning at home.

I've been really impressed with the progress the children have already made in their Tricky Trackers and it is great to see so many of you using the large versions of these when you have come in at 8:50 am for reading time. We had a record number of parents in today and the children are settling well into this routine.

As ever, please ask if you have any questions; we are happy to help! Also, nudge us if you think your child is ready for their next one.
