Welcome Back!

Year Two parents,

I hope you have had a restful break during the Easter holidays and have been making the most of the lovely sunshine. We have been so fortunate with the weather; long may it continue!

I am now back on the blogs and emails, responding to your queries and helping in any way that I can do. Please do get in touch if I can support you in the home learning journey with any area of the curriculum or your child's well being.

I have re-attached the Home Learning Guide for Year Two parents and I hope you will find this both reassuring and useful.

Maths: I have set further maths via mymaths tasks and homework for the week ahead. With that and doodle maths, I hope you will find this helps to keep your child's maths ticking along. I can really recommend the whiterosemaths lessons, too - if you have time (see link on the attachment).

Here is a maths challenge for your child to go at (if you have lots of clean coins hanging around!). Money is a great resource to help your child with adding, counting in multiples of different numbers, problem solving etc. This can be made easy - like the first picture; or harder, like the second. You could also ask your child to find change from an amount if they get on well with this.

Reading: Please see the 'Online Reading Lesson' blog which I have just added. This is a great reading activity for this week (4 days of Reading Activities). As well as this, there are Reading Eggspress comprehensions that your child can use, or access Reading Eggs at their own pace.

Spelling: Activities via SpellingShed.

Writing: See this week's writing activity. Hamilton Resources, home learning is fantastic - a bonus for those of you with this as a focus.

Other Curriculum: The UK project / Art activities (see Year Two art blog).

Take care, Mrs Jones.
