A Wonderful FIrst Week!

We have had a wonderful first week with your fabulous children. We've launched our science topic about the weather and have been learning about the four seasons. We have been asking the question "What is the weather like in the UK and how does it change throughout the year?" We'll be keeping a weather chart on the classroom and observing closely, as scientists do, to see how the weather changes from winter to spring.

We have also been learning to count in tens and ones in maths and spotting how many tens and how many ones are in two-digit numbers - if you want to practise this at home that would be fantastic!

Next week is book week and,as well as learning about author Tony Ross, there are lots of things to look forward to...

Monday: library visit (please send your child with their library card).

Tuesday:  story telling workshop.

Thursday: World Book Day - dress up as witches and wizards.

And finally, new homework books will come home in their book bags tonight. These will go home each Friday and are due in on a Wednesday. Please practise the spellings inside (see the letter inside the front cover) and stick in any other homework you may do with your child.

Have a wonderful weekend and please feel free to pop in if you have any questions.
