Diwali Day and introducing Black History Month

Hello all,

It has truly been day after day of new experiences in our class recently!

After our successful DT day on Thursday, we had the amazing opportunity to take part in a whole-school celebration of Diwali! Practising their British Value of mutual respect and tolerance for those with different faiths, we took part in a variety of activities to get into the Diwali spirit.

Today, we also introduced a topic which we will cover until the half-term: Black History! To get curious and interested in our topic, we used our senses to discover what we might cover in our topic. We tasted some Caribbean food and drink, we saw photos and pictures which we asked questions about, and we even listened to calypso music to get our ears involved!
