What a great finish to another fabulous year of sport at Crossdale!!!

Last week we had our Girls’ and Boys’ Football teams compete for the Keyworth Cup, we weren’t able to hold on to both cups this year. The boys won their game comfortably playing some lovely football along the way. However, the girls were seconds away from sharing the trophy until a last minute goal from Keyworth.

The effort and commitment shown by all of the children on the day was sensational and I was very proud of all of the pupils that represented Crossdale!

On Friday we had our Crossdale sports awards assembly for the last year of sport. It was great to see so many smiles on the faces of the children!

A big well done to all of the children, who won the awards!!!

Thanks,

Mr Sanders

PE Parent Letter

17th July 2017

Dear Parents,

I would like to take this opportunity to extend a huge ‘thank you’ to all parents for their continued support throughout this academic year. As you know sport has again been very successful at Crossdale and it is mainly down to your consistent support and the enthusiasm of the children. This has culminated with us achieving high standards of PE lessons at school and continued success within inter school competitions outside of school.

Remarkably, this year Crossdale has participated in more than 65 sporting events, involving 16 different sports teams and around 70% pupils at Crossdale have taken part in extracurricular activities supported by myself. I think you’ll agree this is a fantastic achievement for our school and we will strive to make further progress in the academic year 2017 / 2018.

At Crossdale we continually encourage a child lead learning approach, where all children actively take greater control of their learning. This can be seen through the Crossdale Keys 2 Learning which is embedded across the school.  As a result we actively encourage children to recognise the importance of a good healthy lifestyle, the development of good sporting behaviour, learning new skills and not solely focusing on winning. We consistently reflect on our own practice and always seek opportunities to improve through our sporting endeavours.

As a school we participate in a variety of sporting events and run a wide range of after school clubs. This helps the children identify the sport that they find the most enjoyable and also encourages others to join in. We hope therefore to build on the successes of the last few years by promoting new sports in school.

Thank you for your continued support and please continue to help promote sport at Crossdale.

Many Thanks

Mr Sanders
